There are so many people experiencing generational dysfunction in their lives. The Bible talks about this in Exodus 20:5-6 – “You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.”
I know this scripture can seem disheartening but hang with me for a few moments.
Let me share a few more scriptures…
Galatians 3:13-14 – “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.’ He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.”
Acts 3:19 – “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.”
You can break the cycle. You can overcome generational dysfunction. You can renew your mind with God’s word. You can create a new legacy of blessing.
2nd Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Romans 8:1-2 – “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”
The first step is understanding this – knowing that there is more going on in your life than just bad luck. The enemy seeks to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10). He will stop at nothing to destroy you and your family – and he uses generational consequences or curses to do this.
But you have the power and the authority to put a stop to it for you and your children. It won’t be easy, but freedom never is.
You will have to fight for it. You will need Jesus. He will walk with you and guide you through the mess – but it will be worth it.
I’ve been through it. I’m still going through it in some areas – but I know why I’m fighting. It’s for my children, my grandchildren, and my great grandchildren. I don’t want them to go through what I’ve gone through.
I’m all in! I know the devil is planning and scheming evil things for me and my family – and I see through his plans, and I know how to counter his attacks. Deliverance has come in many areas, and I am thankful that Jesus has shown me what to do – and how to walk in victory.
This was on my heart today as I went to sit with the Lord – and He met me there with open arms, and He had an encouraging word He wanted me to share.
He said, “So many of My children suffer from generational curses and dysfunction. My heart is for them to break free!
I died so they could freely live without these curses. But My children suffer from lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6), and the enemy knows this and he keeps them in these cycles of torment and confusion.
Break free from this! Break away from the lies – for My TRUTH will set you free!
Wake up! Wake up! Your enemy prowls around like a lion – looking for ways to destroy you (1st Peter 5:8). But you have the tools to overcome all of his wicked, evil attempts to harm or destroy you.
Wake up! Rise up, My child! A new day is dawning – for things are about to change in ways many of you never thought possible!
But I am the God of impossible! And I know what I placed in you – what I created you for – and I want you to wake up!
Awaken to what the enemy has held you back from. Rise up! Stand to your feet today – right now – stand up and declare, ‘I am done with you, satan! I rebuke you! I am a child of God who created me for great and mighty things – and I choose to walk a righteous path!’
Come to Me and ask Me about the generational curses that are holding you back, and I will show you how to be set free. I will help you get rid of your old mindset – I will renew your mind.”
Romans 12:2 – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
The Lord says, “Freedom will ring in your heart and mind.
You can escape the generational dysfunction that follows you, and I will lead the way.
Come, let Me draw you into a place of rest.
Wake up. Rise up. A new day dawns, and we have much work to do – and I have many blessings waiting for you.
Are you willing?”
Yes, Lord – I am willing! I want to break free from every generational curse, consequence, and dysfunction that my ancestors came into agreement with. I no longer want to be a part of the enemy’s plans to destroy me or my family.
Show me. Teach me. Guide me out of the dysfunction the enemy is using against me – in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
Remember, when you become a Christian, you automatically become a part of God’s Kingdom. You are a son or daughter of God, and you have full access to everything His Kingdom offers. But that doesn’t mean you have immediate knowledge about all of these things.
It’s important for you to seek God. He will give you Kingdom knowledge. He will guide you in getting set free from ancestral covenants that were made with the enemy before you were born.
You don’t have to stay in the mess. You can come out of it. All you have to do is ask God to help you through it. He will give you the strength and wisdom you need. So, take the steps you need to take to be set free from the strings that are holding you back.
Let freedom ring in your heart and mind. Jesus died so you can freely live.
Break the cycle. May it stop with you. May your children and your children’s children never have to suffer the curses, consequences, and dysfunction of the decisions your ancestors made.
You can do it. I pray for God’s strength and His peace that surpasses all understanding to flow through you as you make the choice to wake up, rise up, and stand to your feet and tell him, “NO MORE!” You are done with his evil antics!
Trust in the Lord. The journey will be worth it.
I am praying for you, and God is standing with you. Amen.
In His love,
Kathy
