When I began my journey of going deeper with the Lord, the one thing that has been constant is His heart. When I encounter Him, He wants us to know His heart for us. He wants us to discover the deep things He has placed within our hearts. It has changed me; changed my perspective on everything I do – the way I think, the way I feel, the way I love – and I am deeply grateful for it – for Him.

This morning, I looked up the Hebrew meaning for heart in Strong’s Concordance and this is what I found:

“Heart – lev or levav – refers to the “control center” of a person, encompassing not just emotions, but also the mind, will, understanding, and the seat of life itself, making it the source of all inner thoughts, decision, and intentions, rather than just the physical organ. It signifies the core of one’s being, where faith, desires, and morality reside, requiring careful guarding as everything flows from it.”

Wow – powerful.

When you begin a relationship with Jesus, it starts in your heart. Your heart is the core or center of your body – the core of who you are. The Lord wants your heart to be pure and holy. If you are struggling with hurt, rejection, anger, pain, shame, fear, doubt, or anything else – it comes from your heart.

The Lord wants all of these things removed and cleansed from your heart because they hinder everything you do in some way. Even when you think you are doing or feeling great, there could be something that is stopping you from fully experiencing freedom – and it requires you to dig deep into your heart to discover and confront whatever it is.

Don’t be afraid of it. Don’t push it away to deal with at another time because you think it’s too difficult to process. Look for it. Dig for it. Encounter it and ask Jesus to set you free from it.

As Christians, the enemy is always looking for a hook – or a way in, and if we have something we haven’t dealt with in our heart – that is a way in for him. He will use it to your detriment.

When you begin your journey with Jesus, a change immediately takes place in your heart, and He will continue to pursue you because He loves you dearly. He wants you to be set free.

The process is different for every single person – but He knows you best, so trust this process as He begins to peel back layers and layers of the things hidden deep within your heart. Surrender to it because it will only help you.

I’m still going through my own process. Just when I think I have surrendered it all, another layer is revealed to me – and I’ve learned to confront the issue and embrace the process of removing it, so it no longer hinders me.

As I was praying about this, I knew Jesus was close. I could feel His presence.

He took me in the spirit to a field with beautiful trees surrounding it. He handed me a shovel and asked me to dig. He also had a shovel, and we began to dig alongside each other.

He stopped occasionally to show me the treasures He uncovered. There were seeds. There were roots. The dirt changed color as we dug deeper. There are many lessons in just the seeds and roots alone – but Jesus found so much joy in uncovering layer after layer, and that was the lesson He wanted to teach me today.

He had a word He wanted me to share. He said, “My children, your hearts are so very precious to Me. It is where I reside within you. From your heart everything flows. If you are bitter and angry – it flows out of you to others. If you are full of peace and joy – it flows out of you to others.

I want your heart to be pure and full of love so that is what flows out of you.

I ask that you dig deep into your heart to uncover all that you have hidden and release it to Me. I will dig with you. I will be with you through the process – and as we uncover things layer by layer – we will also uncover many treasures that have been hidden along with your pain, fear, doubts, anger, and everything else the enemy strives to keep hidden there.

You have many talents and gifts that are waiting to be uncovered and released. I want you to heal from any trauma you have endured at the hands of your enemy. I want you to be set free from the bondage of sin that your enemy has you trapped in.

I want to counter the lies in your heart with My TRUTH. You are loved. You are meant to be here in this time and place. You have a purpose. You are needed. You are wanted. You are precious to Me, and I have wonderful plans for you.

Dig deep into your heart and uncover your deepest pain, your deepest fears and doubts – then release it to Me. Let Me cleanse it from your heart so I can show you the treasure that you uncovered within – and together, we will grow that treasure that is meant for all the world to see.

There are many blessings waiting to be dug up within your heart. Do you trust Me to draw these blessings out of you?

I am with you, and you won’t go through it alone.

Don’t give the enemy any more power over you – for you are meant to shine. You are meant for a life full of love, joy, peace, and happiness – a life full of freedom and blessing upon blessing!

In your heart, there are many treasures yet to be uncovered. Come, let us dig deep and discover them together!”

My goodness, how He loves us! With Him – we can do anything! His love is unmatchable! Amen!

When I spend time with Jesus, my heart is so full of love for Him that it feels like it will burst out of my chest sometimes! It is a fullness that is hard to put into words. I feel joy, peace, love, and this feeling of wholeness – that I am complete and full of His promises when He is near.

I love spending time with Him. I love how He always has my best interests in His heart – and He shares those things with me. He encourages me through difficult situations. He calms me down when I’m upset or angry. He lets me vent my frustrations and calmly counters them with His word and His truth about the matter.

It humbles me – changes me and encourages me to be more like Him.

Digging deep in your heart is crucial in moving towards complete freedom. It requires you to look within yourself and decide if you want to be a better person – not only for you, but for others around you. It benefits everyone. It’s a win/win!

I encourage you to look within – to dig deep within your heart and ask the Lord to uncover anything that is hidden – anything that is hindering you – anything that is causing pain to yourself or others around you. Release it to Him. Take those first steps of freedom – and watch the Lord come in and bless you like never before.

His goodness never fails to amaze me. He is good. He is good. He is good! Amen.

In His love,
Kathy
