As I prayed this morning, I asked the Lord what was on His heart – His response was, “Fear.”
We all struggle with fear in some way. It could be something like spiders or snakes. It could be fear of speaking in front of people. It could be fear of driving or fear that something bad will happen to you, your spouse, your children, or someone in your family. It could be a fear of heights or fear of leaving your house. It could be a silly fear – something like flushing a toilet or opening a door.
Our enemy, satan, works tirelessly to cause us to fear something or someone ALL the time. And when he sees that it’s working, he works even harder to intensify that fear. His goal – to cause you pain and anxiety – ultimately his goal is to destroy you in any way he can. Fear is one of his biggest tools – and he will push you on some days to the point where you feel like you are going crazy!
But I have good news! God does not want us to live in fear. He doesn’t want us to even entertain thoughts of fear. He wants us to live with peace in our hearts and minds.
Deuteronomy 31:6 – “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Psalm 56:3-4 – “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid.”
John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Psalm 91:4-7 – “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.”
Isaiah 35:4 – “Say to those with fearful hearts, ‘Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.’”
There are many scriptures in God’s word that remind us we are not to fear – we need only trust in Him, and He will guide us.
I share this today as a reminder of who our God is. He will calm your heart when you experience fear. All you have to do is call on His name, and He will answer. Amen.
I also share this because I have fears that the enemy constantly bombards my mind with. It is frustrating because I know who my God is and what He is capable of – but it doesn’t stop the enemy from coming at me with the full force of his intent to harm me, distract me, and stop me from doing what the Lord has asked me to do.
What do I do in those situations? I stand to my feet, and I declare the word of God over whatever the enemy is trying to attack me with. I play worship music. I pray, and I rebuke the enemy over and over until I know he is gone. And I pray for God’s peace.
Mark 9:23 – “‘If you can?’ said Jesus. ‘Everything is possible for one who believes.’”
Trust, have faith, and believe that God will take care of it – and He will.
When Jesus told me fear was on His heart, I asked Him what He wanted to say about it. He said, “Many of My children struggle with fear. They have ACCEPTED it as part of their life.
It is something they are used to or very familiar with, but this should not be the case. FEAR can be overcome!”
I asked Him how to overcome it, and He said, “It can be overcome by speaking My word over it – in every area of your life.
Do not give the enemy access to this. Ask Me for help – no matter what it is – no matter how small or ridiculous you think it is – ask Me, and I will help you.
Speak My word over it. Speak TRUTH, and it shall flee – every single time.
Fear should never be ACCEPTED – it should always be rebuked!
My word stands the test of time – it will NEVER return void! Speak it, and the enemy will flee!
Fear keeps you in bondage, and I want you to walk in freedom. Declare words of PEACE over your life. Do not get trapped in the web of lies your enemy whispers to you.
I want you to live an abundant life.”
John 10:10 – “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.”
“Walk with Me. Speak My word. Ask Me, and I will show you the WAY – for I love you, and I do not want you to suffer.
Ask, and you shall receive!”
Matthew 7:7-8 – “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Thank You, Jesus, for this reminder today!
Fear is something that weaves its way into your heart and mind, and it causes so much destruction. It makes you sick with worry, and it causes anxiety and stress.
Don’t let it control you! And I am speaking to myself, too!
Walk in freedom and peace – the way God meant for you to. Rebuke fear and declare the peace of God over your heart and mind.
Philippians 4:7 – “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
FEAR – I rebuke you in the name of Jesus! You have no power over me or anyone that is reading this! We walk in freedom, and the peace of God guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus!
We got this! Amen!
Let me know in the comments if you are struggling with fear, and I will pray for you.
Remember that you are a child of the most high God, and He desperately loves you. He will guide and protect your every step. Amen.
In His love,
Kathy
