Psalm 46:10 (NIV) – “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

June 17, 2025

This morning, I was praying, and I was overwhelmed with so many things I had to do. It was difficult to focus on praying because I had so many other things on my mind.

Have you ever felt this way? Life happens – and the enemy is good at keeping us distracted from the things of God.

I pushed through it. I knew I had to let it go so I could encounter Jesus – and as soon as I did, He was there.

Thank You, Jesus.

Just being in His presence washed away all the “stuff” that was weighing me down. I needed it.

He encouraged me with a word for all of us. He said, “You know you don’t need to strive to get everything done all at once.

You don’t need to strive to when you want to speak to Me.”

The definition of strive is to “make great efforts to achieve or obtain something.” Dictionary.com.

“I am always here – always available to you.

All you need to do is ask – do not strive for it – just ask.

Ask Me what is on My heart concerning you, and I will tell you. I will guide you.

There is never a day – a moment that goes by that I am not thinking about you. You are a part of Me, and I long to abide with you.

When you feel overwhelmed, simply be still – stop striving – and know that I am God – the One who created you – the One who knows you deeply.

I find so much joy when you seek Me out. My heart bursts with love for you. This is the way I feel about ALL of My children. My heart overflows with an abundance of love when My children seek Me.

Do not fret.
Do not worry about anything.

Come – I invite you to come up here.

Be still and know that I am God and I love you so much.”

My goodness, I needed to hear this! I pray that it encourages you as much as it encouraged me!

I am guilty of striving – or making great efforts to get EVERYTHING done. And then when I go sit in my prayer corner and I have all of these things heavy on my heart and mind, I start striving again to encounter Jesus.

He reminds us that we don’t need to make great efforts or strive to have an encounter with Him. We simply need to put all of the “junk” aside and seek Him. He will be found if we get quiet – if we be still and focus on nothing but Him.

He is there…waiting for us to come to Him. It brings Him great joy when we seek Him out.

I encourage you today to spend time with Him. Don’t strive…just be still and know that He is God. Amen.

In His love,
Kathy
